1. Line design problems:
The most common LED strip sizes are 12V and 24V. 12V is a 3-string multi-channel parallel structure, and 24V is a 6-string multi-channel parallel structure. Since the LED strips are to be connected, each strip can be the length of the connection, and the width of the line and the thickness of the copper foil are highly dependent on the design. Since the current intensity per unit area may be related to the cross-sectional area of the line, if this is not taken into account when wiring, when the connection length exceeds the current of the line, the light bar can withstand the over current. At the same time that the board is damaged, heat will also shorten the life of the LED.
2. Problems in the production process:
Since the LED strips are connected in series, when a short circuit occurs in one set of loops, the other LED voltages in the same group will rise, the brightness of the LED will increase, and the corresponding heat will increase. The most obvious is that in the 5050 light bar, when the 5050 light bar is short-circuited in any one of the chip circuits, the current causing the short circuit is doubled, that is, 20 mA becomes 40 mA, the brightness lamp bead becomes very bright, but at the same time the heat is sharply increased. The board will burn out in a few minutes. However, this problem is relatively subtle and often not very obvious, as short circuits do not affect the normal illumination of the light bar. If the employee in charge of the test only pays attention to whether the LED is lit, do not check the brightness abnormality, or do not. Visual inspection, which is only used for electrical measurements, tends to ignore this problem, which is why many LED strip manufacturers always encounter customer complaints and think the product is hot but can't find the cause.
