Introduction of PCBA SMT

SMT is a circuit-mounting technology that solders the assembly of leaderless or short lead surface mount components (referred to as SMC / SMD) on the surface of PCB board by reflow or dip soldering.

SMT Basic Process:

SMT Footprint

there is no difference on function between SMT and DIP in PCB Assembly, the difference is that the components package/footprint. SMT footprint needs high temperatures during soldering, so the components and pcb boards must have a matching coefficient of thermal expansion. These factors must be fully considered when designing.
