Smart Wearable Devices Have Opened Up A New Era, PCB Will Continue To Receive Attention

            According to IDC's recently released quarterly tracking report on the Chinese wearable device market, namely the first quarter of 2019 (hereinafter referred to as the “IDC Report”), the shipment of China's wearable device market in the first quarter of 2019 was 19.5 million units. The increase was 34.7%. Base wearables (wearables that do not support third-party applications) grew 25.5% year-on-year, and smart wearables grew nearly 85% year-on-year. As the leading brand in the smart wearable device industry, Xiaomi's shipments in the first quarter of 2019 were 4.279 million units, up 34.3% year-on-year, with a market share of 21.9%, ranking first; Huawei's shipments were 3.6 million. Taiwan's year-on-year growth of 214.0%, market share of 18.5%, ranked second; Apple (AAPL.US) shipments of 1.993 million units, an increase of 16.8%, market share of 10.2%, ranked third.

           As an upstream component of smart wearables, PCBs are closely related to the development of the smart wearable industry. For example, a smart bracelet is usually composed of a radio frequency circuit unit, a clock circuit unit, a memory circuit unit, a sensor circuit unit, and a main MCU unit, and the versatility is concentrated on a small PCB. As smart wearables become more powerful and cost-effective, PCBs for smart wearables are expected to receive sustained attention.
